Add Bolster Snow & Co. To Your Portland Brunch List!
As you already know, I’m a bit of a brunch fiend. Sometimes, I think about rebranding myself as the Brunch Foodie, just because. So when there are new places to go for my Portland brunch fix, you know I’ll be there. If you’re looking for your new Portland brunch hot spot, it’s time to go check out Bolster Snow & Co!
Starter: The Cinnamon Roll
When I think about brunch, appetizers or starters never occurred to me, but why not? I come into my Portland brunch knowing that I’m ordering a mimosa or some sort of breakfast cocktail, so adding a starter is actually a genius idea.
Whatever you do, get the cinnamon roll. Seriously, it’ll knock your socks off. It’s the traditional sweet cinnamon roll that we all know and love, with a little twist. A hint of orange brings the flavors of this cinnamon roll to new heights. Not going to lie, I thought about just picking up the plate and licking it clean.
Since realizing BSC started brunch, I’ve made it twice. One of the things that I really appreciate about their brunch menu is the fact that it’s curated. I prefer there to be only a few options that the chef does extremely well, rather than too many options that might not hit the mark. The curated brunch menu at BSC is filled with a little bit of everything, from savory to sweet.
Seasonal Vegetable Hash
You would think as a brunch lover, I’d be a little bit more adventurous, but when I like something, I find myself ordering variations on the same dish, over and over again across town. However, this hash still stands out to me. I appreciate that the vegetables in this hash are plentiful, and the epitome of freshness. You would think with vegetables, there might be something missing, but with this many veggies it’s not possible. Try bursting with brussels sprouts, potatoes, and onions, and topped with 2 perfectly poached eggs. Yes, it tastes as good as it looks too.
Cornbread French Toast
Tell me if you’ve ever seen cornbread french toast on a menu before, because it’s new to me, and kind of genius! This is one of those things where if you see it on the menu, you order it, because otherwise you’ll definitely suffer from brunch envy. Been there, done that. I didn’t order this, but I got a good bite that told me this was no ordinary brunch dish, and I should order it next time. Cornbread french toast, I’m coming for you!
Poached Eggs
When the poached eggs are this pretty, simplicity is the only thing that makes sense. It doesn’t get much better than freshly baked bread, topped with bacon, spinach, and 2 seriously perfect poached eggs. It just doesn’t! Don’t forget the fantastic hollandaise sauce, and a breakfast cocktail to make your Portland brunch that much better.
